I was born Jill Ann Sitra, on October 30, 1967 in Hollywood, Florida to Joseph and Jane Sitra. I am the youngest of four children. My sister, Josette is the oldest and then I have two brothers, Joseph, Jr. and John.
I graduated high school in 1985 from McArthur High in Hollywood, Florida. Right after high school I attended the State of Florida Corrections academy and worked for the State of Florida’s maximum security women’s’ prison in Broward county, home to many female death row inmates.
In 1989 I got married and of that marriage I had two beautiful twin boys born on December 10, 1989, Matthew Nicholas and Mark Joseph. I remarried a wonderful man, Steve Rosco and we have a beautiful son Robert Andrew, born September 27, 1994, who is named after another wonderful man who I always loved very much, my grandfather Robert Andrew Wilson. He also has the same birthday as my husbands’ mother, Barbara Rosco, who my son will sadly and unfortunately never know; as she was taken in a car accident two years before Robert was born.
In 1991, I went to the State of Florida’s Police Academy and I received my police training, where I went on the serve the community of the Town of Jupiter, Florida. In 2001, I was injured on the job and had to have a life changing surgery that would alter my career path. I was medically retired from the police department, never to return to the profession I grew to love.
I was retrained as a paralegal and worked as a legal secretary for the very prestigious law firm of Miller, Kagan, Rodriguez and Silver in West Palm Beach, Florida, whose specialty was dealing in Workers’ Compensation insurance defense claims.
Through all these changes during my lifetime, my husband Steve and I, along with our son Robert have frequently come to the Great Smoky Mountains for numerous vacations, sometimes 3 times a year. We knew in our hearts that this was where we wanted to be, but through careers and my other children, who live with their father, we had ties to South Florida. However, through all the changes we realized that we HAD to make the move or else we would keep making excuses.
So, on Spring break week in 2005, we came up to find a house to make our home. And we did a lot of driving around, there are so many beautiful areas, we finally found the perfect house. It has a nice neighborhood with kids, so our son can get out and make some friends. We also found a great school. My son in Florida was told that he had many learning disabilities and would not ever amount to anything; however we have found Catons Chapel where he made the Principles Honor Roll for the first 6 weeks. I’m thinking the school system in Florida failed him. He is also on the 5th grade boy’s basketball team and making many friends.
I can’t begin to tell you, that while all of our family and friends are still in South Florida, I love it right here and we are making a wonderful new home and meeting great people everyday.
Our agent was Jim Ussery, here at Colonial Real Estate. He was such a help and he inspired me to become an agent myself. I know how happy I am here and I would love to help other people make the same happiness and dreams come true.
